2013 Year in Review

CAP Management had a fantastic 2013 and here is our year in review:

Office Growth:

So many great things happened for CAP Management in 2013. It should be noted first that our company grew in size very significantly over the past year. In fact, it doubled! With increasing business comes the need for a larger staff. Taking a moment to acknowledge the newest staff, the members added to the team in 2013, in order, are: P.E. Butler III (web design & Social Media), Alex Bergeron (sustainability, community advocacy), Jess Pletcher (property management), Greg Maloney (web design, property management), Samira Yasmin (office administration), Beth Lindemann (finance), Frank Cole (community engagement) and Roman Khmelev (accounting). CAP Management has truly benefited from the skills, dedication and eagerness for success that these folks possess and we wouldn’t be enjoying our continued growth and accomplishments without their help.

Because of our growing team, we actually expanded the size of our office during the summer of 2013. To accommodate new staff members and a rise in visitors to the office associated with increased business, we added two new rooms to our suite and filled them with new desks (including stand up desks!) and the machinery needed to keep current with both business demands and technology.

Management Growth:

CAP Management also grew in the number of homeowners associations that we manage. We were happy to welcome seven more communities into our family in 2013.  Each of these communities is different from any other: some are quite large and in established areas; others are smaller but are located in up-and-coming neighborhoods. We feel that the uniqueness of our individual HOAs strengthens the CAP Management team through the demands associated with such diversity.

Sustainability and HOA of the Year:

It was because of the new talents and expertise brought to the company by our newest team members that we were able to do so many wonderful things with our communities in 2013.  Easily, the most notable project was the suite of sustainability work done at our Strawberry 1 at HeatherRidge HOA in Aurora. Everyone involved benefitted from the community garden and water conservation (through interior retrofitting and xeriscaping). In fact, CAP Management and the Strawberry community won the Community Associations Institute HOA of the Year award for the environmental sustainability and community togetherness created by the projects.  2013 was the launch year of our sustainability department and clearly it is off to a great start.  Expanding this department and others is the to-do for 2014! Please see our upcoming “Looking Forward” blog for more information on our 2014 projects.
